Scout Comics First Look: Forever Forward #1

THE ONLY WAY BACK IS FORWARD

A new time travel sci-fi is coming this August exploring time travel through “the future” as an Odyssey-style mythic journey called Forever Forward. Launching into comic shops on August 24th via Scout Comics, the new series is by writer Zack Kaplan and artist Arjuna Susini with colors are by Brad Simpson and letters by Jim Campbell.

“I used to believe that our world was getting better each day, and some time in the future, we might live in a perfect resolution of our challenges. I don’t believe that anymore. Time seems to be a never-ending series of fleeting ups and heart-breaking downs, and the truth is that we don’t know what the future holds,” said Zack Kaplan.

“Forever Forward is a epic sci-fi adventure with action and thrills that takes us into a cascade of future eras from a Russian invasion of America to fascist robots to post-apocalyptic steampunk wars, as times go from bad to worse, and ultimately remind us of the importance of cherishing the present and those we love.”

So what’s Forever Forward about?

A sci-fi adventure like no other, one that imagines time traveling through “the future” as an Odyssey-style mythic journey home. When brilliant young scientist Dr. Lewis Moody accidentally launches himself, his secret longtime crush and three best friends 33 years into the future with his unproven quantum time machine, they find a mysterious message from their future selves: THE ONLY WAY BACK IS FORWARD. Now, as they jump again and again through strange future times, will they one day find the technology to time-travel back, or are they doomed to hopelessly travel forward…forever?

“As a science fiction enthusiast, I was thrilled to collaborate with Zack on Forever Forward, and I could not have been more fortunate than to have the chance to contribute to a story which, in addition to revisiting the concept of time travel in a creative and dynamic way, inserts engaging and innovative elements about the vision of human nature in both small manners (in its individual relationships, friendship, love, etc.) and in the large ways, as culture and society ( how we evolve and involve in a chaotic and dynamic way),” said Arjuna Susini. “It’s very fun!”
