‘Invincible Universe: Battle Beast’ #12 first look teases an even bigger showdown with Conquest

Battle Beast and Conquest are far from finished, and Skybound’s first preview of issue #12 promises the brutal clash is only getting started.

Skybound and Image Comics have revealed a first look at Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #12, the arc-ending issue of Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley’s hit series arriving in comic shops on August 19, 2026. Issue #11 dropped just this week into comic book shops.

If you thought Battle Beast and Conquest were going to settle things quickly, think again. The latest preview makes it clear their fight is only escalating, with one warrior seeking the ultimate victory and the other chasing an honorable death. The result is another devastating chapter in one of the Invincible Universe’s fiercest rivalries.

The issue is written by Invincible co-creator Robert Kirkman, with artwork by co-creator Ryan Ottley, colors by Annalisa Leoni, and letters by Rus Wooton.

Readers will have plenty of cover options to choose from. Ryan Ottley and Annalisa Leoni provide the main cover, while variant covers come from Leinil Yu and Romulo Fajardo Jr., Chris Burnham and Brian Reber, Riley Rossmo, Miki Montlló, and Toni Fejzula.

The comic arrives during a banner year for the Invincible franchise. Season 4 recently became the animated series’ most-watched season on Prime Video, with Season 5 already in production and Season 6 officially renewed. Meanwhile, the newly released fighting game Invincible VS has surpassed one million players.

Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #12 (Lunar Codes below | SRP: $3.99) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
