The Obi-Wan Kenobi season (series?) may have concluded last week, but Obi-Wan Wednesdays at StarWars.com have carried on — at least for one more week.
This week’s offerings included two new figures for Hasbro’s Black Series toy line. One of them is fantastic. The other…not so much. Let’s start with the good stuff first.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jabiim)
As I’ve said before and will say time and time again, $24.99 is way too much for these figures. That said, this version of Obi-Wan from the series’ fifth episode looks fantastic. In addition to the great portrait/sculpt, the robe lays perfectly on the figure.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jabiim) will be available from most major retailers. It will be available for preorder on Thursday at 1:00 PM EDT with an expected arrival in Spring 2023.
Teeka (Jawa)
This figure is a Target exclusive, which is normally enough to deter purchasing thanks to their preorders getting swarmed by scalper bots. But also carries a retail price point of $27.99.
For a Jawa.
I don’t care that it’s a named Jawa (with barely any screen time) who comes with some cool accessories. I also don’t care that it’s an exclusive (which we’re all sick of anyway). $27.99 is a ridiculously insulting price for a figure that stands barely over four inches.
If you want to overpay for one, however, then Teeka will be available for preorder on Thursday at 1:00 PM EDT with an expected arrival this Fall.
