MultiVersus open beta to begin July 26

Alongside the announcement, Warner Bros. also shared a new gameplay trailer for MultiVersus.

Warner Bros.’s upcoming free-to-play platform fighter MultiVersus will be launching an open beta at the end of this month on July 26. The lucky players who enjoyed the closed alpha from May will be able to dive into the beta a week earlier on July 19. The beta will be open to gamers on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

A new gameplay trailer was also shared today. The Super Smash Bros.-like gameplay was on full display with Batman, Bugs Bunny, Velma, Harley Quinn, Steven Universe, and many more going toe-to-toe with each other. We also got a great look at the Iron Giant towering over foes in the trailer. The roster includes characters from across Warner Bros.’s properties, including DC, Looney Tunes, Game of ThronesSteven UniverseAdventure Time, and Tom and Jerry. An original character Reindog, a green dog with reindeer antlers, will also be playable as well as more characters to be revealed later.

Game modes include a team-based 2-on-2 format as well as 1v1, 4-player free-for-all, co-op PvE, and tutorials, of course. All progress from the open beta will carry over to the main game, making this almost a soft launch for the game. It’ll surely be tweaked, however, in response to player feedback during the beta.

MultiVersus will fully launch sometime this year on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and 5, and PC. In the meantime, you can read the game’s FAQ for more information on MultiVersus.
