WEBTOONS series Lore Olympus won the 2022 Harvey Award for the digital book of the year, and it’s the second year in a row it won! This is the first time a series has won this category twice, created by Rachel Smythe.
Announced on Friday during the Harvey Awards at New York Comic Con. You can read it digitally right now.
So what’s Lore Olympus about?
Inspired by Greek mythology, “Lore Olympus” is a stylish and immersive contemporary retelling of mythological lore that has accumulated more than 1.2 billion global views on WEBTOON. Launched in 2018, “Lore Olympus” quickly grew to be the #1 most-read series on the platform. The series has become a global phenomenon, with two #1 New York Times bestselling graphic novel adaptations—Lore Olympus: Vol. 1 and Lore Olympus: Vol. 2—and a third due out next week (Oct. 11), an animated series in development from Wattpad WEBTOON Studios and The Jim Henson Company, merchandise, and more.
The first volume was one of our favorite comics of 2020.
In addition to its Harvey Award wins, the digital comic also won the Eisner Award for Best Webcomic and France’s Prix Babelio – Bande Dessinée earlier this year, the 2021 Goodreads Choice Award for Best Graphic Novel, and was one of NPR’s critics’ recommendations for 2021.
