James Gunn might be moving his focus over to DC as the new co-CEO of DC Studios, but he’s not done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe just yet. On Tuesday, Disney+ released the first (and possibly only) trailer for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, written and directed by Gunn.
As you can see, it starts with the standard holiday story of someone being sad and missing a person they love. In this case, it’s Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) missing Gamora. In an effort to cheer him up, Drax and Mantis travel to Earth so they can kidnap Kevin Bacon (who Quill is quite fond of) and bring him back as a Christmas present.
Lest you think the special will only reference Mr. Bacon, the trailer makes it very clear that he’s going to play a major (and likely hilarious) role in the proceedings.
If that wasn’t enough to get you on board, the trailer also implies an expanded role for Cosmo, who we haven’t seen since Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will debut November 25 exclusively on Disney+.
