Our Channel Surfing TV picks include university escapades, a haunting trip, and midlife crises. The ladies get back to campus following Thanksgiving in the new season of The Sex Lives of College Girls. European immigrants set off to the New World by boat but their journey becomes a nightmare in 1899. Then, a recently single forty-something finds the dating scene has changed over the years in Fleishman Is in Trouble.
A Striptacular Winter Underland
The crew from The Sex Lives of College Girls found themselves in different positions at the end of season one. Before everyone headed out for fall break, Kim had lost her scholarship for cheating, Whitney ended a messy relationship with her soccer coach, Leighton came out, and Bela quit the most prestigious comedy group on campus after being sexually harassed.
As they all return to finish off the semester, they will manage their new normal. Also, they’ll attend plenty of parties and further explore their sexuality. You know, pretty much your typical university hijinks.
The first two episodes from season two of The Sex Lives of College Girls drop Thursday, November 17, on HBO Max.

1889 follows a steamship that departs London for New York City. During the journey, the people onboard get more than they bargained for when they cross paths with a missing vessel out in the open sea. Strange occurrences begin to take its toll on the passengers and crew alike.
Binge the entire first season of 1889 beginning Thursday, November 17, on Netflix.
Back in the Game
Fleishman Is in Trouble began as a novel from writer Taffy Brodesser-Akner. The story follows a doctor in his forties, named Toby, undergoing an ugly divorce. To help move on, he begins dating through apps and discovers that he’s much more successful in the modern scene than when he was younger. One day, his ex-wife disappears leaving him with the kids. Now he must balance his family, career, and social life.
The miniseries stars Jessie Eisenberg, Claire Danes, Lizzy Caplan, and Adam Brody. It wrestles with themes of gender roles, marriage and divorce, online dating, and midlife crises while also taking a mocking dive into the Manhattan upper class.
The series premiere of Fleishman Is in Trouble is Thursday, November 17, on Hulu.
