Fighting against a Dark Future
The His Dark Materials fantasy series was a trilogy in book form so it seems fitting that the television adaptation is lasting three seasons. When the show comes back this week, the plot will follow the novel The Amber Spyglass.
When we last left off, Mrs. Coulter kidnapped Lyra in hopes of preventing her from fulfilling a prophecy. As a result, Will sets out to rescue his friend. Meanwhile, Lord Asriel is amassing an army for the big showdown with the Authority.
Season three’s first two episodes of His Dark Materials air tonight, December 5, on HBO.
We’re All Doomed!
Those loveable losers of the Doom Patrol can’t seem to avoid trouble. This time around, they take an unexpected trip to the future and make a terrible discovery. They are then forced to choose between saving the world or their own happiness.
In addition, we find the bizarre but fearsome Were-Butts will have a role to play in the upcoming season. And, as our own Michael Rosch found out at New York Comic Con, we can look forward to a musical episode.
Season four of Doom Patrol begins Thursday, December 8, with the first two episodes on HBO Max.
An Absolute Quest
Dragon Age is a popular video game franchise from BioWare. It has spawned a number of titles, including spinoffs, and has branched out into novels, comics, film, and web series. The latest installment under its umbrella is an animated television show.
Dragon Age: Absolution follows an elven mercenary named Miriam. She is part of a team that tries to steal an artifact from the most powerful man in Tevinter. However, when the heist goes wrong, Miriam and her crew must fight in order to survive.
