Sony reveals first trailer for ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to hit theaters on June 2, 2023.

On Tuesday, Sony released the long-awaited trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the sequel to the award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

As expected, the animation is absolutely gorgeous. But where the first film’s quieter moments often didn’t get the credit they deserved, this trailer starts off with a great one. A touching and very authentic conversation between Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and his mother Rio (Luna Lauren Vélez) ends up becoming the voice-over for a retrospective before showing us some new amazing new stuff.

Right off the bat, we can tell that something is up involving Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) being extremely pissed off at Miles and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld). The pair also find themselves at odds with a host of other spider-folks from different realities, including Jessica Drew (Issa Rae).

The conflict apparently arises Miles and Gwen have a disagreement with the group, who are charged with protecting the multiverse. This will no doubt result in some amazing fight sequences, incredible cameos, and all of us pouring over each frame to identify every spider-person on screen.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to hit theaters on June 2, 2023.
