The creative team is up to something that feels wholly original yet emblematic of a different time in comics. It’s also a social commentary with ideas about superheroes in a world that feels quite real and lived in.

Billionaire Island: Cult of Dogs #2 keeps the ball rolling. With satire that’s both necessary and thought provoking, the book delivers as many laughs as it does sighs as readers are left contemplating the world.

#3: Dark Web: X-Men #1
If you want action and great callbacks to X-Men elements, Dark Web: X-Men #1 is a full-on blast. It leans into the wacky fun of demons assuming control of inanimate objects, features many superhero fight scene action, and promises significant revelations for key characters like Havok and Cyclops. As far as tie-in comics go, this issue is even better than the series launch!

#2: A Vicious Circle #1
People use the word awesome too much these days, but make no mistake, A Vicious Circle is an awesome first issue. From the visuals to its ability to entertain and keep up your interest while keeping you in the dark, A Vicious Circle is a comic you can’t put down. A Vicious Circleplays off how we think about time travel while using an arch rivalry that connects in exciting ways.

#1: Wynd: The Throne in the Sky #5
Wynd: The Throne in the Sky #5 is so masterfully written and illustrated by James Tynion IV and Michael Dialynas that it may be one of the strongest issues to date, and certainly the most enrapturing conclusion to one of Wynd’s volumes. Wynd: The Throne in the Sky’ #5 is an absolute must-read for fans of the Wynd series, and its exciting cliffhanger ending and emotionally turbulent twists will surely keep fans clamoring for the next chapter, whenever that may come.
