Welcome to the final edition of Fantastic Five in the year 2022! 2023 is on the horizon, but comics publishers made sure we sent off 2022 with a bang. Let’s get right to the best comics of the week!
#5: Tim Drake: Robin #4
Tim Drake: Robin has been a severely underrated book that has all the elements necessary for a thrilling mystery. This issue continues to push towards the conclusion of the first arc while not losing its footing. As we reach the halfway point, readers can trust that Fitzmartin is not taking her foot off the gas as the stakes only seem to get higher with each issue. Overall, Tim Drake: Robin #4 is another excellent issue in the story that advances toward its conclusion with a compelling narrative.

#4: The Riddler: Year One #2
The Riddler: Year One #2 confirms that Subic is a force in the comics community now and in all his future endeavors. The story is intriguing as it puts you behind the glasses, so to speak, and gets inside Edward’s head. His disturbing view of reality is ever present, and it’s a haunting place to live, but in this series, we get to exist in a way only comics could deliver.

#3: Miracleman by Gaiman & Buckingham: The Silver Age #3
We’ve waited 29 years for this, and the creative team recognized that and delivered an impressive issue. The art and story are a joy to behold, and the issue contains quite a few extras to keep you entertained. Now we wait to see what Dickie will do next.

#2: Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise #2
Given how the final full page splash sets up the next issue, I will definitely be poring over the pages for every brand new minute detail when Fall Sunrise #3 is released. Definitely recommended for fans of Doctor Strange and excellent art. An artistic marvel (pun absolutely intended), Tradd Moore’s Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise #2 is a fun time in cape comics with visuals that are sure to melt your brain.

#1: The Nice House on the Lake #12
The Nice House on the Lake #12 has everything that made this series great, from exceptional writing from multiple points of view and characters, incredible powers from the lake house host, and some deliciously disturbing things to think about once all is said done. Don’t pass on The Nice House on the Lake – there’s nothing else like it, and it’s as cutting-edge and exciting as comics can get.
