Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals

The Vintage Collection gets some sorely needed good reveals (including one very big surprise).

On Wednesday, Hasbro Pulse did a livestream to reveal new products for their Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series toylines. Before checking out the new items, we should note that all but one of these figures will not have a preorder window. Instead, they’ll go on sale or hit store shelves when they’re in stock — definitely a change from how Hasbro usually does things.

On one hand, the 6-18 month gap from preorder to delivery was starting to get old. On the other hand, there’s still a nagging fear that this will make the scalpers even more aggressive about clearing out stock.

But I digress…let’s start with the 3.75″ Vintage Collection reveals first:

Weequay

FINALLY!

While repacks may be the bane of most collectors’ existence, I think we can all agree that this one has needed to be rereleased for a while. In addition to its soaring cost on the aftermarket, those of us with Jabba’s Sail Barge and/or Tatooine Skiff likely need a few.

The figure will retail for $16.99 and be available from most major retailers this summer.

Admiral Piett

Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals

Another figure that we’ve been waiting for and it looks great. Even if you aren’t particularly fond of one of Star Wars’ most famous Imperial officers, he can still stand in as a nameless commander for your Empire displays.

But Firmess Piett deserves so much better than that.

The figure will retail for $16.99 and will be available from most major retailers this summer.

Darth Vader (Death Star II)

I have enough Vaders on my shelf that I was able to skip the recent Dark Times release. This one, however, might be too good to pass up. I mean, just look at that portrait…and the articulation…and cape!

No matter how hard I try, I just can’t quit you, Hasbro.

The figure will retail for $16.99 from most major retailers and be available this summer.

Phase II Clone Trooper (Andor)

Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals

This might look like a bad excuse for a repack, but it’s actually a badly needed update to the old clone body mold — which looks fantastic. It’s still too expensive to replace my other plain Phase II clones, but I do wish they had those wonderfully normal-looking legs.

The figure will retail for $16.99 from most major retailers and be available this summer.

Clone Captain Howzer

See what I mean about the legs?

This figure was originally part of the Bad Batch 4-pack and incorrectly named Captain Ballast. It’s the exact same figure, but with a different card back. If you still need one and/or you’re a carded collector, then there you go.

Captain Howzer will retail for $16.99 from most major retailers and be available this summer.

Han Solo (Return of the Jedi)

Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals

I’ve got all the Han Solo figures I’ll ever want, but this is a pretty great update if you still need one.

The figure will retail for $16.99 from most major retailers and be available this summer.

Phase II Clone Trooper Multipack (212th)

Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals

Ugh…Hasbro is killing me with this wonderful new clone body. I have no reason to update my 212th group, but with how good these look (and the addition of Lieutenant Waxer), I’m going to definitely experience some FOMO not picking this one up.

The multi-pack will retail for $55.99, which is $13.99 per troop — not terrible and a whole lot better than it’s been lately. It will be available exclusively from Hasbro Pulse and Shop Disney this summer.

Starkiller

Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals

The eyebrows look better than the 2014 release, but are still a bit wonky. Still, it’s good that folks who want this figure can finally get him.

Starkiller will retail for $16.99 from most major retailers and be available this summer.

Pipeline Reveals

  • Luke Skywalker (Book of Boba Fett): Meh
  • Obi-Wan and Battle Damaged Vader 2-pack: Even though we know this is going to be absurdly overpriced, it’s going to be hard to pass up.
  • Speeder Bike (Mandalorian): Meh
  • N1 Star Fighter (Mandalorian): Holy crap. I assumed like most folks that this would be a HasLab project. Now we just have to wait and see if the final product is worth whatever absurdly high price Hasbro attaches to it.

Now take a look at the 6″ scale Black Series offerings

Darth Vader (Revenge of the Jedi)

Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals

This will be a Star Wars Celebration exclusive, which celebrates Return of the Jedi‘s original title with a poster and a cool-looking Vader repaint. Is the $33.99 too much? Of course! But at least it’s for a convention exclusive that’s pretty niche. There also should be some that are put up for sale on Hasbro Pulse once the convention is over.

Ki-Adi Mundi

Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals

Not one of my favorite Jedi, but a nice-looking figure of him if you want one. Unfortunately, you’ll have a while until it’s available in the spring…of 2024. The figure will be a fan channel (i.e. online toy retailer) exclusive.

No price has been listed yet, most likely because Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks is hoping he can raise prices even more by then.

Clone Commander Jesse

Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals

If Hasbro wasn’t rising prices on their figures faster than avian flu is inflating the cost of eggs, I would pick this one up. Unfortunately, it will retail for $27.99 and is a eBay Walmart exclusive as part of their upcoming Collector Con event.

The figure will also be available for preorder next month (with an expected arrival this summer), but we all know how that goes with Wally World.

Rebel Trooper (Endor)

Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals

A rebel trooper with swappable faces is a brilliant idea — especially when one of those faces allows you to make him into a version of Commander Rex (and don’t even try to convince me that Nik Sant is who he’s actually supposed to be).

Unfortunately, that single feature made this a “deluxe” figure, which means a $33.99 retail price point. It will be available at most major retailers this summer.

Pipeline Reveals

Hasbro: New Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series reveals

  • Luke Skywalker & Grogu Build-up Pack: I’m gonna go out on a limb and predict this will be priced at $75. I encourage Hasbro to prove me wrong.
  • Deluxe Darth Malgus: Gotta love the sense of dread that the “deluxe” label carries.
  • Ahsoka Loyalist Helmet: I don’t buy many roleplay items, but this is worth checking out when it arrives.
