‘Top Chef’ season 20 Power Rankings: Week 3

Top Chef goes on a pub crawl.

The competitors on Top Chef are gradually being whittled down week by week. A rice centric challenge on the previous episode spelled the end for another chef. With the pressure so high, everyone would welcome a little break. Their prayers were answered since there would be no quickfire.

Instead, Tom and Gail, took the group out on the town in a very planned pub crawl filled with food and drink. They made three stops altogether sampling traditional pub fare at each location. While some nursed their beers waiting for the other shoe to drop, others enjoyed the moment and were more garrulous. One thing they all had in common was they were stuffed by the end.

In true Top Chef fashion, there was an ulterior motive to their outing. As you can imagine, the elimination challenge involved all the bar food they just ate. The contestants were divided into teams of two, and then each pairing selected a classic dish to develop an elevated version. They had two hours to cook 40 servings in the kitchen of Trafalgar Tavern. Brett Graham, who owns the only Michelin starred pub in London, served as the guest judge. The stakes were raised when it was announced it would be a double elimination.

That would make Last Chance Kitchen that much more crowded. Fortunately this week, two chefs would survive in the after-show competition. Here is how everyone is positioned on Top Chef after week three.
