Prepare to go boldly to the Star Trek universe next month as Star Trek: Resurgence is set to launch on May 23, 2023. After a couple of delays, and a little confusion as to whether “May 23” meant May 23rd or May 2023, Resurgence now has a firm release date for next month.
Resurgence is set after Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s timeline. It’ll feature two playable characters, The U.S.S. RESOLUTE‘s First Officer Jara Rydek and Engineering Crewperson Carter Diaz who both get caught up in an uprising that’s challenging a thin peace between alien civilizations. The game is an interactive narrative reminiscent of Telltale’s titles, but with new gameplay iterations. Developer Dramatic Labs is itself composed of several former Telltale devs looking to create new stories.
Star Trek is having quite a moment lately. The new season of Picard has drawn a positive reception, Strange New Worlds returns this summer, and Discovery is gearing up for its fifth and final season.
Star Trek: Resurgence warps onto PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S next month.
