Fantastic Five: The best comics of the week of April 26, 2023

The week was heavily dominated by Marvel, but it’s DC that grabs the coveted top spot.

Welcome back to another edition of Fantastic Five, AIPT’s Friday celebration of the best comics of the week! This week was dominated by Marvel, but don’t worry, DC fans – the top spot of the week was grabbed by a brand-new #1 from DC. Let’s take a look at the books!

#5: Sins of Sinister: Dominion #1

Fantastic Five: The best comics of the week of April 26, 2023

If Sins of Sinister: Dominion #1 accomplishes anything, it’s tying up an entire event with ease. Sinister is once again being challenged, and it is satisfying to see him balk after so much horror. With intrigue bleeding from the pages, it will be fun to see where Marvel goes now that the Sins of Sinister is finally at an end.

#4: Clobberin’ Time #2

Fantastic Five: The best comics of the week of April 26, 2023

Clobberin’ Time #2 combines good writing with great in-your-face visuals, and features monsters, X-Men, and super imaginative sci-fi only Marvel could provide. What more could you want?

#3: Daredevil #10

Fantastic Five: The best comics of the week of April 26, 2023

Chip Zdarsky, Marco Checchetto, and Matthew Wilson take Matt Murdock to task as they put him against Spider-Man. Faith will challenge responsibility, and this will make Matt have to forge his destiny by going against everyone to survive. An entertaining turning point in Daredevil’s history!

#2: Wasp #4

Fantastic Five: The best comics of the week of April 26, 2023

Wasp has been an enjoyable read throughout its previous three issues, and this fourth and final one is no different. Wasp #4 has strong character moments mixed with engaging action sequences, and it perfectly wraps up what is now essential reading for any fan, or someone looking to become a fan, of the Wasp.

#1: Green Arrow #1

Fantastic Five: The best comics of the week of April 26, 2023

I can’t stress enough that I think this is the start of something truly great, and as a massive fan of this corner of DC, it’s so good to see these characters back and working together again. I know this is only the first issue of a limited run, but it’s already reminded me about why I fell in love with this dysfunctional family in the first place. For that, I give my biggest thanks to Williamson and Izaakse.
