The Wrap had the exclusive scoop that Jim Lee has been promoted to President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer of DC. Lee was made Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics in June 2018, replacing Geoff Johns at the time. He was also a co-publisher with Dan DiDio.
This is the first change for Jim Lee and his role at DC since Dan Didio was let go from DC Comics back in February 2020. Since then, Lee has stayed in the same role, but it looks like the promotion was well deserved, with Lee taking over all major operations for the comics publisher.
Lee was named by Pam Lifford, president of global brands, franchises, and experiences at Warner Bros. Discovery. Lee will continue to report to Lifford.
So what does the job entail? Per The Wrap:
Lee will continue in his primary duties as publisher at DC Comics, leading the creative teams at the world-famous comic book company. He also leads creative efforts to integrate DC’s publishing portfolio of characters and stories across all media, supporting Warner Bros. Discovery’s family of brands and studios.
