If you happened to be watching Wednesday’s NHL playoff game between the Edmonton Oilers and the Vegas Golden Knights, you also got to see an interview with Jaleel White, who is still best known for playing Steve Urkel on the hit 90s sitcom Family Matters.
Toward the end of the interview (at around the 0:51 mark), White casually mentions that he’s going to be part of the upcoming Star Wars: Skeleton Crew series. He went on to explain that his character is a pirate who requires hours of makeup/prosthetics work to portray.

As if that weren’t enough unexpected information, White reveals that Skeleton Crew is expected to debut sometime in “November/December,” which was very likely something he was NOT supposed to talk about. My Gen-X self is dying to make a lame “Did I do that?” joke, but I will resolve to rise above it.
Also, how crazy is it that this information all came out at an Edmonton Oilers hockey game…or that Jaleel White is a fan of the franchise? Whatever the case, those of us who grew up with Jaleel White on our television screens in the 90s will be more than happy to see him show up in the Star Wars universe.
