You made it to another Friday – celebrate with us by looking back at the best comics of the week! This week, we have two books from Marvel, two from DC, and one from Dark Horse Comics. Let’s take a look!
#5: Star Wars: Darth Vader – Black, White & Red #3
Star Wars: Darth Vader – Black, White & Red #3 delivers one of the most chilling Vader tales, showcasing the full force of the Dark Lord of the Sith. With one issue left, it remains to be seen how anyone can top this issue. But I hope they try – or as Yoda would say, do.

#4: Green Arrow #3
This issue of Green Arrow absolutely fried my brain with how much it feels it was made specifically to appeal to me. How often can you say that a book comes around about a character (or characters) you love, and not only is it exactly what you wanted to read, it still manages to one-up your expectations by dropping a bombshell like this issue did on your lap. I thought I had this whole thing mapped out from the onset, but boy have I never been more glad to be proven wrong. This book was already a contender for favorite of mine for the year, but if this keeps up… man, I don’t even know what I’ll think. Hats off to you guys – keep it up!
#3: The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos #1
The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos #1 provides a lovely setup for the ongoing series, establishing a heartfelt and vulnerable connection to the main character, quickly identifying him as queer (instead of making queer readers just guess and hope like other queer-adjacent comics), and divulging the perfect amount of mystery to be unraveled over the coming issues. With a brilliant and experienced world-building creator like James Tynion IV and a talented writer like Tate Brombal there is no doubt that the many mysteries and cliff hangers revealed in this debut issue will slowly unravel, drawing the reader deeper and deeper into the monstrous world of Christopher Chaos, grounded in the deliciously colorful and expressive art from Isaac Goodhart and Miquel Muerto.

#2: X-Men: Before the Fall – Heralds of Apocalypse #1
X-Men: Before the Fall – Heralds of Apocalypse is a brilliant story that should easily excite any X-Men fan. The coming war with Genesis promises more interaction with Apocalypse, which has been sorely needed. His question of strength will soon be hanging over the heads of every Krakoan as they survive in the wake of the Fall of X.

#1: Tim Drake: Robin #10
Tim Drake: Robin has been a personal favorite series of mine, because of how much emotion Fitzmartin drove into it. Even though it’s unclear where Tim Drake will be after Knight Terrors, the series wraps up with the ability to open the door for a new beginning for the character. As the walls come crashing down and the Chaos Monsters try to break Robin, it’s safe to wonder whether they bit off more than they could chew with the hero of the Marina. Identity and home were two major themes of this short series, and the two tie together here in a truly satisfying way that should hopefully put a smile on every reader’s face.
