Amazon releases trailer for ‘The Boys’ spinoff, ‘Gen V’

Things are about to get crazy at Godolkin University.

This week, Amazon released the first teaser trailer for Gen V, a spinoff of The Boys. The series takes place at Godolkin University, a college where the first class of students who know how they got their powers (via experimentation with Compound V) competes with each other to be the next great superhero.

As expected, debauchery and mayhem ensue.

Before we take a look at the trailer, be forewarned that it’s very gory…which is weird since it also edits out the obvious swear words and the borderline ones, too. You’ll be safe from having to hear various terms for male genitalia, but there’s no escaping the sight of a fist punching through the back of a police officer’s head and through his mouth.

I honestly wasn’t sure about this series, but Jaz Sinclair looks like she’ll be making Marie Monroe into a great lead. Her blood-based powers also looks all types of cool.

The rest of the class (that we know so far) includes:

  • Lizze Broadway as Emma Shaw (size-changing powers, social media influencer)
  • Patrick Schwarzenegger as Golden Boy (thermonuclear abilities, heavy favorite to join The Seven)
  • Chance Perdomo as Andre Anderson (metal manipulation)
  • Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity (metal manipulation, former supe, and father of Andre Anderson)
  • Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap (telepathy)
  • London Thor and Derek Lu as Jordan Li (gender transformation, super strength)
  • Asa Germann as Sam Riordan (possible super strength)
  • Marco Pigossi as Dr. Edison Cardosa (Godolkin staff member)
  • Clancy Brown as Rich Brinkerhoff (author, probable Godolkin staff member)
  • Alexander Calvert as an undisclosed character
  • Shelley Conn as an undisclosed character
  • Jason Ritter as an undisclosed character

There will also be characters from The Boys‘ main series, including:

The first three episodes of Gen V will premiere on September 19 on Prime Video with five weekly releases until the first season finale on November 3.
