Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in development for PS4, Xbox One

“Our team at Respawn proudly launched [Star Wars Jedi: Survivor] to critical acclaim and commercial success.”

After releasing this spring for ninth generation consoles, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now on its way to last gen’s PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. “Thanks to the strength of this legendary franchise and community demand, our development team has committed to bringing this Jedi experience to PS4 and Xbox One,” EA CEO Andrew Wilson said during an earnings call today.

This move makes a starshipload of sense as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor received acclaim from critics and fans alike. With The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S user base still growing after years of pandemic and supply chain induced shortages, creating a last-gen version of such a highly regarded game is a win-win for everyone around.

“Based on the strength of the IP, the engaging gameplay, and new ways to bring the title to players, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will continue to deliver long-term value,” CFO Stuart Canfield added. Jedi: Survivor was a huge part of EA’s success in the first quarter of 2024, and you can read more about its strong quarter if you so choose.

As the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Jedi: Survivor were only announced today, we don’t have any word yet on when the best Star Wars game since Disney took over will hit last gen consoles.
