Marvel Comics VP of Publishing/Executive Editor Tom Brevoort made a shocking announcement today for fans and comics industry folks that’ll shake up the Avengers and the X-Men. Posting on his personal Facebook account, Brevoort revealed he’ll be making the move to X-Men Editor. This will likely mean big changes from what we know about the X-Men currently, and while it’s a ways off, many are likely pondering what this means for Fall of X and the HoX and PoX era.
The post came because Brevoort wanted to clear the air on him becoming Editor in Chief at Marvel, something he says C.B. Cebulski is very good at and will continue to do. While it’s not yet clear how soon the change will happen–Brevoort said it’ll be a “good long while” after all–it is most definitely coming.
Many will wonder what this means for longtime X-Men Senior Editor Jordan D. White, who connects with fans via AIPT’s exclusive column X-Men Monday. If I were to wager a guess, White would likely also switch to a different department. Could he be managing the Avengers books? Spider-Man? Only time will tell.
Check out Brevoort’s entire message here, or read it below.
With the news only an hour or so old, expect updates and any new news as it comes in here at AIPT. This is a tectonic shift for Marvel and it means some serious changes for everyone’s beloved X-Men!
