Our Channel Surfing TV picks are dominated by science fiction and fantasy this week. A fan favorite one time Jedi Padawan and rebel leads her own live-action series in Ahsoka. Humans continue to fight back against aliens in the second season of Invasion. Then, watch a modern-day reimagining of Norse mythology in Ragnarok.
The Heir to the Empire
Ahsoka Tano has appeared in several Star Wars series from the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels to the live action The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. This week, she will star in her own show.
Ahsoka takes place after the original trilogy, and finds the titular character investigating a powerful threat that could jeopardize the New Republic. Consider the series a continuation of Star Wars Rebels with many characters from the animated show appearing from Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla to the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn. If you’re unfamiliar with Ahsoka Tano, you can check out everything you need to know about her before watching her show.

The Last Chance for Survival
Invasion is a show about an alien attack on Earth, but focuses on the personal impact on different individuals around the world rather than the war itself. When we last left off, we were celebrating a victory, but the ominous cliffhanger made it seem it was only round one.
Season two picks up almost four months from the initial invasion. The war isn’t over with the enemy adapting and readjusting their strategy. Now, we’ll have to connect with them to better understand their motivations and maybe even learn a weakness.

The Epic Final Battle
Ragnarok is a Norwegian fantasy drama that follows a high school student named Magne Seier. He returns to his hometown to learn that it is experiencing the negative effects of climate change and pollution from factories owned by the influential Jutul family. The twist is that Magne discovers he is the reincarnation of Thor. Other characters also have the powers of gods and creatures from Norse mythology. For example, Magne’s half-brother, Laurits, is Loki and the Jutuls are actually supernatural beings known as Jötnar.
The series has been building to this third and final season. Magne and his group of gods are ready to confront the Jutuls, but the true X-factor is Laurits, who has ties to both sides. Who will he ally with or is he following his own path?
