Fans of Percy Jackson and the Olympians have only a little more than a month until it arrives on television. The show’s social media accounts have been dropping teases and Easter eggs to drum up anticipation and excitement. This morning, an all-new trailer was released providing a sneak peek at what to expect.
Young Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) has his life turned upside down when he learns the stories of Gods and monsters are true. He sets out on a quest with his companions Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri) to retrieve the mythical Master Bolt to prevent a war.
The trailer provides some great looks at those Gods and monsters. Percy clashes swords with Ares played by Adam Copeland (AKA Edge) and Lin Manuel Miranda’s Hermes loves to gamble in a casino. Then, there’s all the creatures including a Pegasus, Cerberus, and a Minotaur. Percy Jackson and the Olympians is looking like a great modern fantasy mash up with Greek mythology we all are hoping for.
The series is created by Rick Riordan and Jon Steinberg, who also serve as executive producers alongside Dan Shotz, Rebecca Riordan, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, The Gotham Group’s Jeremy Bell and D.J. Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Monica Owusu-Breen, Anders Engström, Jet Wilkinson.
