World of Warcraft servers undergoing surprise maintenance

Hopefully, WoW’s servers will be back up by your raid time.

It’s almost raid time for many, but World of Warcraft‘s North American servers are going down for an unexpected hour of maintenance. Blizzard’s Customer Service account tweeted the following:

[#Dragonflight] We will be performing maintenance beginning on Tuesday, November 28th, 3:00 PM (PST) and we expect the service to be available again at approximately 4:00 PM (PST). During this time the game will be unavailable for play.

It’s extremely rare that maintenance happens outside of scheduled time on Tuesday mornings, and even more rare that it happens so late into the evening. Blizzard hasn’t announced a reason for the maintenance, but given the unexpected nature it can be assumed it’s for something major.

There were multiple reports of users unable to log in around 12pm ET today, but that seemed to have resolved itself.
