The biggest new video games releasing the week of 12/4/23

Check out what’s new in the world of video games this week.

Winter is on the horizon and it promises potential Game of the Year contenders to release week after week. Sandwiched between them are plenty of indie games to ensure it’ll be impossible for you to not find exciting video games to play and fall in love with.

Let’s check out what video games are hitting storefronts this week.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition (12/5)

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S

If you were waiting to check out Cyberpunk 2077 after it’s less-than-stellar launch, now is the perfect time to finally venture to Night City. After spy thriller expansion Phantom Liberty and Update 2.0 revitalized the game this fall, CD Projekt Red is bundling the base game, the Phantom Liberty expansion, and Update 2.0 on disc in Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. Update 2.1 releases the same day, bringing a usable metro system, a handheld radio, new vehicles, updated driving mechanics, and boss fight improvements.

A Highland Song (12/5)

Platforms: PC and Switch

Inkle Studios combines platforming with the rhythm genre in A Highland Song. You’ll spring, climb, and spelunk across the Scottish Highlands to the tune of incredible Scottish folk music. A Highland Song promises to be highly replayable as its narrative builds around the choices you make on your adventure.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (12/7)

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S

Ubisoft brings its trademark open world gameplay to the world of James Cameron’s AvatarFrontiers of Pandora casts you as a Na’vi who was captured and trained by the human militaristic corporation RDA for years. Now free, you’ll explore Pandora, protect the planet from the RDA, and reconnect with your people in this first-person action-adventure game. Set before the films, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will allow players to discover all-new areas of the planet in the game’s open world gameplay.

Also worth checking out: A Long Journey to an Uncertain End on Switch, Born of Bread, The Day Before, Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition, Laika: Aged Through Blood on consoles, Chessarama, and Disney Dreamlight Valley’s official launch.
