IDW celebrates 25 years with new logo and solicits catalog

IDW reveals how it’ll celebrate it’s 25th birthday in 2024.

IDW has revealed a new logo in order to celebrate 25 years in the industry. Founded in 1999, IDW will feature its new logo starting in February 2024. Designed by Nate Widick, IDW’s Director of Design, the logo is meant to call back to the publishers’ classic logo.

“Helping IDW celebrate 25 years is a true honor. IDW was started with the passion of a few guys in a small office that loved comics and today we still hold true to that sentiment,” IDW’s Co-Publisher Tara McCrilli said. “IDW is filled with some of the most passionate comics professionals in the industry and it is a pleasure to be able to share space with them and keep IDW moving forward toward the next 25!”

Along with the new logo, IDW revealed it’ll be releasing its very own solicits catalog for retailers, fans, and press to get a first look at what the editorial department has been building for readers. The first edition will be released digitally this week, and future editions will release both physical and digital versions.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of the next evolution of IDW Publishing,” added IDW’s Co-Publisher Mark Doyle. “We have some great plans to celebrate the past while building towards the future! We’ve got an amazing lineup of talent we’re working with during this momentous year, from some of the biggest names in comics to new voices who will become the super stars of tomorrow. I’m so excited for fans to read these great stories and learn more about our plans.”

SAN DIEGO, CA (December 13, 2023) – 25 years of innovation. 25 years of award-winning storytelling. And 25 years of simply loving comics.

IDW Publishing is immensely proud to announce its plans to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Originally founded back in 1999, IDW’s longevity and creativity speaks volumes about the countless hardworking and passionate employees and creatives – both past and present – who have helped bring a variety of stories to life and get them into the hands of readers.  From classic hits like 30 DAYS OF NIGHT and LOCKE & KEY to modern must-reads like THE HUNGER AND THE DUSK and BENEATH THE TREES WHERE NOBODY SEES, IDW prides itself on putting storytelling first and offering a diverse array of tales for readers to enjoy.

Beginning February 2024, all new IDW comics will feature a new logo crafted by Nate Widick, IDW’s Director of Design, which calls back to the publisher’s classic logo and celebrates the company’s history. IDW’s Co-Publisher Tara McCrillis is proud of being surrounded by a team of enthusiastic people who adore comics and knows that will help IDW as it honors the past while paving a new path forward. “Helping IDW celebrate 25 years is a true honor. IDW was started with the passion of a few guys in a small office that loved comics and today we still hold true to that sentiment. IDW’s CEO Davidi Jonas understands the importance of respecting the company’s history while working to be a unique presence in the comic industry in the years to come. “Honoring the trailblazing innovators that founded, grew, and solidified IDW as a premier graphic publisher is both right and wise,” stated Jonas. “Robbie Robbins and Ted Adams are at the foundation IDW. They deserve our deep appreciation and admiration. And, we look to their example for guidance as we turn the next page to ensure that IDW’s next 25 years return to being entrepreneurial, nimble, a fun place to work, to be in relationship with fans, partners, creators, and store owners…to be part of the beauty of the comics community.”

Beginning in 2024, IDW will also be releasing its very own solicits catalog for retailers, fans, and press to get a first-look at what the editorial department has been building for readers.
