Ahead of Nintendo’s partner showcase Nintendo Direct tomorrow, The Pokémon Company has announced a Pokémon Presents for next week on Pokémon Day 2024. You can check it out Tuesday February 27 at 9AM EST on the official Pokémon YouTube channel to hear all about what’s in store for the future of Pokémon.
Rumors are already abound, with some outlets speculating Pokémon Gold & Silver will be featured in some capacity, possibly as a remake for the Switch. I’m personally holding out hope for a Pokémon Black & White remake as, after the 2021 Diamond & Pearl Switch remakes, Generation V seems to be next in line to be released on the Switch.
Scarlet & Violet were announced two years ago on Pokémon Day and recently wrapped up their post-launch content with The Hidden Treasures of Area Zero DLC and free epilogue. Could Generation X be announced next week? I doubt it as presumably the next Pokémon generation will be for the Switch 2, which is likely looking at a 2025 launch.
Could we get a spinoff like Legends Arceus? A Pokémon Concierge game? (A man can dream!) More anime news? We’ll have to tune in next week to find out!
