World of Warcraft‘s latest patch, 10.2.6, has been shrouded in mystery. Usually, WoW patches are completely datamined, player tested, and theorycrafted to death before release, but Blizzard decided to try something different for this content patch and kept its contents largely a secret. The patch is coming out today, and while we all wait for server maintenance to end, Blizzard has finally released full details on what’s going down in World of Warcraft patch 10.2.6: Plunderstorm!
Plunderstorm is a limited-time, 60-player battle royale set in the Arathi Highlands. You create a brand-new character just for this event, choose if you want to queue solo or with friends, and then get to plundering. It sounds a lot like Fortnite and other similar battle royale games, but playing a game like that within WoW should be interesting.
Rewards for Plunderstorm include “Plunderlord parrot mount, Bubbles the crab pet, swashbuckling cosmetics, and more”, according to Blizzard.
Will we see you in the Arathi Highlands once the servers come back up?
