‘Christmas 365’ offers bizarre feel-good story

The holidays weren’t always so tough for Peter Rockwell and his family, but a tragic and challenging year finds them stressed out and drifting apart…

It’s never too early for Christmas, as Dark Horse Comics has announced Christmas 365. Written by Mikey Way and Jonathan Rivera, with art by Piotr Kowalski, colors by Brad Simpson, and letters by Joshua Reed. Dubbed a “bizarre feel-good story,” the four-issue series launches on December 4th.

“Like most kids growing up, I never wanted Christmas to end,” said Way. “When it’s over, you’re left having to wait an entire year for that magical feeling to return. I would often fantasize…what if it never had to end? That very thought was what sparked this story. But as the saying goes, is too much of a good thing not so good?”

So what’s Christmas 365 about?

The holidays weren’t always so tough for Peter Rockwell and his family, but a tragic and challenging year finds them stressed out and drifting apart when they should be pulling together. After accepting the wisdom of a Santa Claus at his local mall, Peter hatches a plan to give his family the best year ever, one Christmas at a time!

“Christmas 365 is a satirical comedy about finding balance,” added Rivera. “It’s about pursuing your dreams without giving in to the temptation of a world that wants more and more of us each day, and learning the difference between what we want and what we need.  This book is also our love letter to all of the surreal suburban comedies we loved as kids like ‘Better Off Dead’ and ‘The ‘Burbs.’”
