Mondo’s NYCC panel this morning was filled with exciting announcements and fun giveaways. The panelists focused on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first, announcing they would be making a 1:6 scale line of TMNT figures. They’ve done these in the past, around ten or so years ago, but are now going to make them better than ever and “inspired by everything Turtles,” senior creative director Peter Santa-Maria said.
The sculptors at Mondo, including panelist Alex Brewer, will be creating their own realistic takes on the Turtles. These will be unique designs from Mondo with original ideas and accessories for the figures. Paramount is giving Mondo leeway with the license to be original and bold, like how they introduced original concepts to their Masters of the Universe figures and even introduced a character into the canon. “We basically kind of do it and then show them,” senior director of creative and product development Hector Arce said in terms of getting licensor approval for new characters.

Mondo next revealed they’d be tackling The real Ghostbusters animated show for their new line of figures. Santa-Maria described it as “the line that was never meant to be” in terms of how they fought to get them made. They showed off Ray and Winston figures next to mystery silhouettes. The figures will be in two-packs with a Ghostbuster and a ghost, and the first figures should be out in the next couple weeks with the rest following in 2025 alongside other big Ghostbuster announcements.
The panelists spoke about how excited they were to create figures for ghosts from the animated show that never had toys before. “Our goal with this line is to give you most of the core characters you want,” Santa-Maria said.

Rounding out the panel were some of Mondo’s biggest announcements as they revealed what lines they’ll be producing next. Mondo will be tackling the beloved Gargoyles cartoon, a property that is “long overdue for us,” according to Arce. The next Mondo Squad will be for A Goofy Movie while they announced a Nightmare Before Christmas Nightmare Vessel, which is a collectible decoration of sorts with figures inside, like the Halloween II one below. Various figures for Naruto Shippuden and Alien will also be made soon.
The panelists were perhaps most excited with the announcement of their Yu-Gi-Oh! line. They’ll be making collectible figures, soft vinyl toys, and posters, and will even be reproducing the original cards. These will be full-sized (likely 18×24 or 24×36) and feature designs on front and back. The panelists, especially avid player Arce, were over the moon to bring the Mondo treatment to the oversized cards, but wouldn’t reveal just yet what cards fans can expect.
