Welcome to a Christmas edition of Fantastic Five, where we look back at the best comics of the week! Not even Christmas Day can stop the flow of excellent comics, as this week’s haul will show. Let’s get to the books!
The best comics of the week: December 25, 2024
#5: Iron Man #3
Iron Man #3 continues to think outside the box, both in terms of enemies and Tony Stark’s approach to problem-solving. It also features its hero wielding a massive sword, which is awesome. The battle axe from Absolute Batman might have some competition.

#4: Spider-Boy #14
The first page of the book has a nice summary of everything that’s gone before and it’s a great way to catch up on what’s happened in previous issues. So you have no excuses, pick up this issue and dive into this series! There’s an incredible amount of story packed into this issue and it’s all fantastic, with Spider-Girl and Hulkette given time to shine amidst the book’s wall-to-wall action.

#3: Void Rivals #15
I hope that Kirkman keeps doing his thing because this Void Rivals is definitely going to start getting a lot more attention from core Transformers fans soon enough. And if you are a Transformers fan who hasn’t read this already, what are you waiting for? GO! GOOOOO!
#2: Justice League Unlimited #2
Though it is still in the setup phase of the arc, Waid, Mora, and Bonvillain continue to flex their creative muscles in this issue with worthwhile character interactions, action-heavy art accentuated with a fun monster movie vibe and setup for compelling mysteries that are personal to the Leaguers and could prove catastrophic to the team. January can’t come soon enough!

#1: Absolute Wonder Woman #3
Absolute Wonder Woman #3 is a perfect issue. It introduces new faces and tells the tales of the titular hero all while allowing the audience to peer deeper and deeper into Wonder Woman’s mind. Thus far, this stands to be the strongest Absolute title out of the Trinity titles, and I can’t wait for more.
