Nintendo will once again accept preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 in the United States after pausing their original plan to start them April 9 as a result of US President Donald Trump’s global tariffs put the feasibility of the console’s $449 price into question. Now, the company says US gamers can preorder the successor to their smash-hit Switch starting April 24. The Switch 2’s June 5 release date remains unchanged.
“We apologize for the retail pre-order delay, and hope this reduces some of the uncertainty our customers may be experiencing,” Nintendo wrote in a press release. “We thank our customers for their patience, and we share their excitement to experience Nintendo Switch 2 starting June 5, 2025.”
To clear up any confusion, Nintendo also listed out the expected retail prices for everything dropping June 5:
