Earlier this year, Bitmap Bureau announced its upcoming project, Terminator 2D: NO FATE. The new game is based on the blockbuster hit and arguably one of the best action movies of all time, Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The adaptation’s arrival this September has excited many fans, and, Epic Games‘ new comments only boost the hype.
Epic Games stated that most video game versions of major films often suffer and are unable to escape the shadow of their source material. The developer explained, “The thing is, tie-in games were often small and forgettable ancillaries of their inspirations.” Epic Games believed that, up until now, previous Terminator adaptations faced the same issues. However, the company is hopeful that Terminator 2D: NO FATE will finally break that trend.
Terminator 2D: NO FATE takes players back in time
Epic Games said that it believes Bitmap Bureau’s unique take on the hit film will defy the odds of it just becoming another humdrum remake that fans will play once and forget about. Apparently, Bitmap Bureau is bringing fans a blast from the past by creating a game that looks like it “should have been made in 1991”. Bitmap Bureau Pixel Artist, Henk Nieborg, stated, “We try to bring back the feel, fun, and challenge you will find in ‘90s arcade and console games.” Both companies are confident that this sense of nostalgia will draw in older gamers and provide them with an unforgettable experience.
Terminator 2D: NO FATE will, for the most part, stay true to the movie and the narratives of its characters. However, some new elements will be added to the game to enhance the experience for the players and make the game stand out.

Terminator 2D: NO FATE will be released on September 5, 2025.
