Destiny 2’s Star Wars crossover announced, everything we know so far

PlayStation announced a major Destiny 2 and Star Wars crossover in an upcoming expansion titled Renegades. According to PlayStation’s post on X, fans can expect Renegades to launch later this year on December 2, 2025.

The news came with a teaser trailer of the expansion. The sneak peek reveals the inclusion of lightsabers, implying that other legendary Star Wars weaponry and gear will be included, too. The teaser also show a location that heavily resembles Tatooine, Luke Skywalker’s home planet in the original Star Wars trilogy.

Destiny 2 Renegades expansion details

Renegades is just one of the many parts of the “Fate Saga.” It will feature weapons such as lightsabers and DL-44. The expansion will also provide players with brand-new weapons inspired by the massive Star Wars Universe. One of the developers explained in a livestream that while Renegades is mainly based on Star Wars lore, the expansion also took inspiration from other sci-fi stories.

PlayStation also announced another new Destiny 2 expansion along with Renegades titled, The Edge of Fate which will be available on July 15, 2025. In The Edge of Fate, guardians must trek through a new destination called Kepler with new abilities alongside new allies.

Renegades is available for pre-order and will be available on December 2, 2025 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC.
