Skybound and Image Comics are bringing two fan-favorite characters from the Invincible Universe back into the spotlight this November with the release of new compendiums for Tech Jacket and The Astounding Wolf-Man. This is after the hugely successful Battle Beast launched earlier this year.
The renewed interest in both heroes follows their recent appearances in Season 3 of Invincible. “It’s been great to see these characters getting more attention,” said creator Robert Kirkman. “They’ve always played important roles in the larger universe, and giving them the compendium treatment just made sense.”
The Tech Jacket Compendium collects the complete saga of Zack Thompson—an ordinary high schooler who becomes a powerful galactic defender. The collection includes the original Tech Jacket #1–8, the digital mini-series, and the 2013 run from Joe Keatinge and Khary Randolph. It features a new cover by co-creator E.J. Su and Dave McCaig.
“It’s wild looking back on this after all these years,” said Su. “It was my first big book and let me channel all my childhood influences like Ultraman and Gundam into a superhero of my own.”
Also arriving this November is The Astounding Wolf-Man Compendium, which brings together the full 25-issue series plus Invincible #57. Co-created by Kirkman and Jason Howard, the story follows Gary Hampton, who turns into a werewolf superhero after a brutal attack. The collection highlights Wolf-Man’s battles, alliances, and surprising twists, all within the wider Invincible world.
“Wolf-Man was something Robert and I poured ourselves into,” said Howard. “This is the perfect way for readers to experience—or re-experience—the wild ride we created.”
Both characters debuted in the 2000s as part of the larger Invincible saga, which began in 2003 and has only grown in popularity thanks to the hit animated series now streaming on Prime Video. With a fourth season on the horizon, and fan interest at an all-time high, these compendiums offer a great way to dive deeper into the universe.
Tech Jacket Compendium (ISBN 978-1-5343-3056-6) and The Astounding Wolf-Man Compendium (ISBN 978-1-5343-3228-7) both hit comic shops on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, and will be available at bookstores and digital platforms on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, for $39.99 each.
