On July 10th, WEBTOON announced a major shift in its North American entertainment operations, officially rebranding Wattpad WEBTOON Studios as WEBTOON Productions. The move comes with a new name, fresh logo, and an updated leadership structure aimed at expanding its global IP and production efforts.
David Madden has been promoted to President of WEBTOON Productions, while Maximilian Jo steps in as Vice President and Head of Strategy for the company’s Global IP Business team. Additionally, Tina McIntyre has been appointed Head of the newly created Consumer Goods division. All three will report to Yongsoo Kim, Chief Strategy Officer of WEBTOON Entertainment and Head of Global WEBTOON.
“This rebrand signals our commitment to delivering world-class content and expanding the reach of creator-driven IP,” said Kim. “WEBTOON has become a cultural staple for Gen Z, and our new identity reflects the strength of our global brand, our partnerships across Hollywood, and our mission to bring even more adaptations to audiences.”
WEBTOON has been making moves of late, partnering with Dark Horse just last month, for instance.

WEBTOON Productions already has several major projects in the works, collaborating with companies like Tubi, The Jim Henson Company, Imagine Entertainment, and Oscar-winner Diablo Cody. The newly restructured division aims to further bridge the gap between webcomics and mainstream entertainment, reinforcing WEBTOON’s position as a powerhouse in global storytelling.
