Skybound and Image Comics, in partnership with Hasbro, have announced G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #321, a brand-new silent issue from series legend Larry Hama and artist Chris Mooneyham, arriving in comic shops on October 8, 2025.
Following in the footsteps of the groundbreaking “Silent Interlude” in issue #21, this special installment brings back the no-dialogue format that changed comics history. This time, Snake Eyes and Dawn Moreno must defend The Pit solo after a sonic weapon disables their teammates.
“This is another all-silent issue,” said Hama, “featuring the return of the sound-weaponizing villains from G.I. Joe Origins #19. They’ve created a portable version of their tech and launched an aerial attack on the Joe base. Only Snake Eyes and Dawn—protected in the Pit’s sound-proof range—are left standing.”
Artist Chris Mooneyham added, “Every time I work with Larry’s scripts, it’s a thrilling challenge. Issue #321 was no different—I hope longtime fans feel the same magic.”
The issue features a main cover by Andy Kubert with colors by Laura Martin, alongside several variants:
-
A black-and-white version of Kubert’s cover
-
A “Gears of Joe” 1:10 incentive cover by Steve Beach
-
An open-to-order variant by Chris Mooneyham
“300 issues after the original silent issue, Larry Hama has done it again,” said Alex Antone, Editorial Director at Skybound. “Paired with Chris Mooneyham, this new chapter delivers a fresh, action-packed take for a new generation.”
G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero remains a key title in Skybound’s collaboration with Hasbro, alongside the expanding Energon Universe, which also includes Transformers, Void Rivals, and Cobra Commander.
Issue #321 will be available in comic shops and digitally via Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play on October 8 for $3.99.
