A thrilling new trailer for Adventures of Superman: Book of El has dropped, teasing a sweeping, thousand-year quest that writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson describes as “the most epic thing I’ve ever written.”
Blending the scope of Superman’s mythos with the visual energy of Samurai Jack, the series follows the Man of Steel on a desperate mission to reunite with his family. The story unfolds in a grim future where the House of El’s symbol is feared and despised, heroes are nearly extinct, and the universe is locked in a war against Promethean giants and ancient gods.
Johnson revealed that Book of El is the culmination of his entire DC tenure, tying together threads from Superman, Action Comics, Warworld Saga, The Dawn of DC, and even his work on Green Lantern, Batman, and Robin. “It all comes together, collides, and concludes in this book,” he said.
The series features art and letters by Scott Godlewski, Alex Mlemis, and Dave Sharpe, promising striking visuals to match the high-stakes storytelling. Watch the trailer below!
Adventures of Superman: Book of El #1 hits shelves September 3, with Final Order Cutoff looming this Monday.
