Eliot Page on reuniting with Christopher Nolan post-transition: “It was a such joy to come back”

Eliot Page reflects on his career in Hollywood at New York Comic Con.

Eliot Page received repeated cheers and applause echoing the hall of the Jacob Javits Center’s Empire Stage when briefly touching on his experience transitioning while working in Hollywood on Sunday at New York Comic Con during an X-Men-themed panel with James McAvoy.

Eliot was asked about working with Christopher Nolan again after previously starring on Nolan’s mind-bending Inception in 2010. They’re reuniting for the British Director’s upcoming film The Odyssey. “It’s such a joy to come back now, as you can imagine. Being more comfortable in yourself makes these sorts of projects more enjoyable. It actually meant so much to me.“

Page transitioned during the making of the streaming series Umbrella Academy. “Professionally, it was just so wonderful to get to be a part of a project that was as fun and exciting and had the response that it had. It was just really fulfilling as an actor. I really loved my character. I loved the cast and crew that I got to work with for years. Of course, I had to say goodbye too. And we were just so lucky obviously that people responded to it the way that they did.”

”And yes, personally, it sort of tracks my own transition in my life. That Steve Blackman was so open to making that a part of Viktor’s story, I just feel really grateful for the whole thing.”
