SHP Comics’ ‘Tales From EroTech’ brings sex robots, satire, and Silicon Valley chaos — exclusively to comic shops

Orders for’ Tales From EroTech’ close on October 27, so retailers and fans alike will want to act fast if they want to snag one before it sells out — and maybe make Santa blush this holiday season.

AIPT has the exclusive scoop on Tales From EroTech, SHP Comics’ bold new anthology exploring the intersection of sex, tech, and comedy — and it’s officially a direct market exclusive, available only through comic book shops on December 10.

Following its award-winning short film origins, Technical Support — the breakout indie film from SHP Entertainment that took home multiple international honors — the EroTech universe is expanding in a big way. Earlier this year, SHP turned heads on Kickstarter with a print anthology celebrating the wild world of a Silicon Valley startup that builds… sex robots. Now, the anthology is going wide — but only through Lunar Distribution’s Massive Indies program.

Publisher and creator Shawn Hainsworth describes EroTech as a “workplace comedy about a Silicon Valley startup that makes sex robots,” inspired by his real-world experience as a software engineer. “I started to think about what it would be like to actually build and debug a working sex robot,” Hainsworth said. “We’ve had so much fun with the concept that we wanted to bring in indie creators to explode the premise into stories of every genre — horror, comedy, even social satire. The results have been amazing.”

Tales From EroTech Vol. 1 features a lineup of acclaimed indie talent, with stories ranging from a darkly prophetic vision of sex robots as weapons of war to tongue-in-cheek romantic mishaps between humans and machines. Contributors include Dean Haspiel, Chloe Brailsford, Katie Mansfield, Brian McCray, Jack Purcell, Alan Flops, and more.

The anthology arrives just weeks after the launch of the core EroTech miniseries, debuting November 19 with a special variant cover by comics legend Howard Chaykin — giving retailers a perfect lead-in to the anthology’s arrival.

Orders for Tales From EroTech close on October 27, so retailers and fans alike will want to act fast if they want to snag one before it sells out — and maybe make Santa blush this holiday season.
