#5: The End 2099 #1
The End 2099 is the ultimate culmination of Steve Orlando’s ambitious, years-long reconstruction of Marvel’s 2099 universe, delivering a relentless cosmic disaster story that feels both earned and electrifying. With Abyssus devouring worlds, Mephisto scrambling to protect his soul economy, and Spider-Man 2099 standing at the center of collapse, the series fires on all cylinders. Roberson’s explosive visuals and Orlando’s expertly layered mythology transform this into a true event-level spectacle that proves 2099 is no longer a side experiment, but a fully realized corner of Marvel’s future.

#4: Amazing Spider-Man #17
‘Amazing Spider-Man’ #17 does so much right, from visuals to character
Amazing Spider-Man #17 is a gorgeous, emotionally resonant sci-fi romance wrapped in superhero spectacle. Kelly continues to prove how flexible and emotionally rich Peter Parker can be across any genre, while Larraz and Gracia deliver visuals worthy of a major Marvel event. With Hellgate looming and new feelings complicating Peter’s already chaotic life, this issue hits hard on both the heart and the senses.

#1: Supergirl #8
Though Supergirl #8 may not be the most upbeat Christmas tale compared to many others, like the holiday specials people watch on TV every year, it still touches upon a relatable human experience, and centers its story on reminding the protagonist what truly matters to them. In this regard, Supergirl #8 succeeds as both a holiday special and a standalone tale.
