Marvel is already teeing up 2026 as a massive year, packed with major events, milestone issues, and high-profile launches—and fans will get an early taste through Comics Giveaway Day™.
Revealed today by Penguin Random House, Comics Giveaway Day™ takes place on May 2, with participating comic shops offering free special-edition comics to visitors. The initiative is designed to welcome new readers, reward longtime fans, and support retailers by spotlighting some of Marvel’s biggest stories on the horizon. This year, Marvel is going big, with four Comics Giveaway Day™ issues planned.
Two of those titles dive straight into the heart of the Marvel Universe. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1000 / QUEEN IN BLACK #1 CGD 2026 advances the countdown toward Amazing Spider-Man #1000, lays groundwork for the upcoming Queen in Black symbiote event, and teases what’s next for the Infernal Hulk. Meanwhile, ARMAGEDDON / X-MEN #1 CGD 2026 delivers a key chapter tied to Marvel’s 2026 summer event Armageddon, sets up the next major X-Men milestone, and checks in with Marvel’s First Family.
Marvel is also spotlighting its licensed storytelling with ALIEN, PREDATOR & PLANET OF THE APES #1 CGD 2026, featuring new stories set across some of the most iconic sci-fi franchises from 20th Century Studios.
Younger readers aren’t being left out, either. SPIDEY & HIS AMAZING FRIENDS #1 CGD 2026 is built as an ideal first comic experience, featuring a fun new adventure with Spidey and friends—plus guest appearances by Jeff the Land Shark and Symbie.
