Wonder Man heads back to Hollywood, and his past is ready for a comeback of its own

Gerry Duggan and Mark Buckingham’s WONDER MAN hits stands this March.

Simon Williams is stepping back into the spotlight this March with an all-new Wonder Man limited series, brought to life by Gerry Duggan and Mark Buckingham.

The new series sends Wonder Man back to Hollywood, where Simon uses his ionic powers to keep chaos in check both on set and off. But the job quickly turns personal when a deadly mystery tied to an old friend pulls him into dangerous territory. With Hellcat on his trail, studios calling the shots, and his career hanging in the balance, Simon is thrown into a make-or-break adventure that digs deep into his past while setting the stage for his next big act. Designed as an accessible jumping-on point, the series leans into Wonder Man’s long history while pushing him toward a defining new chapter.

The story frames Simon’s life as a reflection of Hollywood itself — full of reinvention, hard falls, and second chances. From his days being manipulated into villainy by the Enchantress to shining as one of the Avengers’ brightest heroes, Simon has always fought to keep moving forward. That resilience is tested when his past finally catches up with him in the form of Randolph Chancellor, a former cellmate whose return threatens to upend everything. Part superhero thriller, part love letter to Los Angeles, the series celebrates both the city and the complicated legacy of Wonder Man.

“Wonder Man has always been a favorite of mine, and so’s Mark Buckingham,” Duggan shared. “To be able to collaborate with one of the kings of comics and a true gentleman has been a thrill and a privilege. Simon Williams dreams of Hollywood, and his city and show business has had a rough go of it. Join us for a very special debut, starring Wonder Man, his chosen family and the one he was born into. This one’s going to be special.”

“It is has been a delight to dive into Wonder Man’s world for this brand new solo series and a pleasure to work with Gerry Duggan,” Buckingham said. “Simon is a good man, who doesn’t always make the best choices. He takes care of his family and friends… but often to his own detriment. Especially when it comes to Randolph Chancellor.”

“It has been fun designing a distinctive look for this book that will help ground us in Hollywood as Simon Williams revisits his LA life,” he continued. “There is action, adventure, a little bit of romance, and a lot of laughs.”

The debut issue features a main cover by Paulo Siqueria, alongside a Foil Variant by Netho Diaz, a Headshot Variant by Phil Noto, and a variant cover by Mark Buckingham. Fans can also catch Marvel Television’s take on Simon Williams when Wonder Man premieres January 27 on Disney+.
