This March, the Marvel Universe is getting a monstrous makeover as a brand-new wave of Stormbreaker Variant Covers unleashes never-before-seen creatures across some of Marvel’s biggest titles.
Dubbed the Marvel Monster Variant Covers, the collection transforms familiar heroes—and even one infamous villain—into classic horror icons. Think vampires, witches, mummies, and ghosts, all reimagined through the distinct styles of Marvel’s Stormbreakers. Each piece leans hard into spooky vibes, showing off these rising stars’ talent for the eerie and the macabre.
The timing couldn’t be better. The covers arrive alongside the launch of Infernal Hulk by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein, a new series that ushers in an all-out Age of Monsters. In the story, the Eldest—offspring of the Mother of Horrors—has overtaken Hulk’s body, turning the Jade Giant into the centerpiece of a terrifying new era.

Selected for their standout artistry, major accomplishments, and fearless creativity, these artists represent the next generation of Marvel talent—pushing visual storytelling into bold new territory.
The Stormbreakers program launched in 2020 as the evolution of Marvel’s Young Guns initiative. Over the last 15 years, the program has spotlighted 36 rising artists who went on to shape some of Marvel’s biggest events and most iconic series, including names like Steve McNiven, Jim Cheung, Sara Pichelli, and Ryan Stegman.
