Ram V, Anand Radhakrishnan, and Evan Cagle sign massive global deal for new graphic novel series with Morgen

A six-figure global deal brings Ram V, Anand Radhakrishnan, and Evan Cagle together again for what they’re calling their most ambitious graphic novel project yet.

Multi-award-winning creators Ram V, Anand Radhakrishnan (RK), and Evan Cagle are joining forces once again—this time for a major new graphic novel series with newly launched French publisher Morgen. The ambitious project will roll out in multiple volumes over the next three years, following a groundbreaking six-figure deal that grants Morgen worldwide publishing rights.

The series will feature writing by Ram V, art by Radhakrishnan and Cagle, lettering from Aditya Bidikar, and editorial oversight by Eric Harburn. For English-language territories, Image Comics will serve as the publishing partner, ensuring the project reaches a global audience.

Ram V, a 2025 Eisner Award nominee for Best Writer, has built a reputation for bold, genre-spanning stories that explore themes of identity, belief, death, and rebirth. His acclaimed body of work includes The Many Deaths of Laila Starr, Rare Flavours, The One Hand and The Six Fingers, and Blue in Green with Radhakrishnan, as well as Dawnrunner with Cagle. On the DC side, his credits include Swamp Thing, The New Gods with Cagle, and Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma with Radhakrishnan.

Radhakrishnan brings his award-winning background in fine art and illustration to the project, known for a dynamic, expressive style that blends loose energy with striking detail. His collaborations with V span projects like Grafity’s Wall, Radio Apocalypse, and Batman: Urban Legends, alongside high-profile cover work for DC, BOOM! Studios, and Image Comics on titles including The Nice House on the Lake, The Department of Truth, and Swamp Thing.

Cagle, a former animator and art director, has earned widespread acclaim for his intricate, cross-cultural visual storytelling. His work includes award-winning covers for Dune: House Atreides, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Chosen Ones—which earned him the ASFA Chesley Award—The Witcher, and Stranger Things, as well as his Eisner-nominated cover art on Detective Comics during Ram V’s celebrated run.

Morgen Publisher and President Sullivan Rouaud emphasized the significance of continuing his long-standing collaboration with Ram V and expanding it with this new project.

“After having had the chance and honor of introducing his work to the French market in 2020 through These Savage Shores, and then accompanying him on Blue In Green and Dawnrunner, continuing our journey with Ram V feels like the natural next step for us at Morgen,” said Rouaud. “Ram embodies excellence: a demanding, visionary understanding of what pop culture can and should convey to its readers. This new project, which brings together two artists I’ve also had the privilege of publishing, Evan Cagle and Anand Radhakrishnan, already stands out as the most ambitious work I’ve seen him undertake. I’m confident that this new series will set a new benchmark for independent comics in the years to come.”

Ram V echoed that excitement, describing the project as one of his most ambitious to date.

“It’s incredibly exciting to find a home for a project I’ve had on the boil for a while,” said V. “It’s great to be working with Sullivan Rouaud again, now at Morgen. And it is always a pleasure to be collaborating with Evan and Anand, alongside a group of creators and wonderful friends. I’ve always tried to view format, design and the way a narrative is presented and told as part of the art of storytelling in the medium. This book is possibly the most ambitious project I’ve undertaken in that regard and I cannot wait to build it with these incredible people.”

For Radhakrishnan, the announcement marks a milestone in a decade-long creative partnership with Ram V.

“Ram V and I started collaborating in 2015, with covers and short stories at first and then as we started finding our stride, larger projects,” said Radhakrishnan. “From slice of life in Mumbai to gritty American horror to grotesque superhero, we have always believed in experimenting with tone and medium and bringing something fresh to the table. So it gives me immense pleasure to announce that we are working together again, and as we hit our tenth year of collaboration, this new project promises to be more ambitious and bigger than anything we have done before. To be doing this along with my industry favourites, the brilliant Evan Cagle, Aditya Bidikar, Eric Harburn, Tom Muller and the stellar Morgen team, makes this a milestone career-defining project for me.”

Cagle also highlighted the significance of reuniting with the team behind Grafity’s Wall and working again with Rouaud.

“It’s a real privilege to be a part of such a strong band of creators, and with the support of Sullivan and Morgen, our work will have the space to breathe and the creative freedom to shine,” said Cagle. “Grafity’s Wall was the book which initially brought Ram, Anand, and Aditya to my attention, and ultimately led to my own partnership with Ram. To work with the whole collective behind that book—which to me was so meaningful, both personally and professionally—is deeply satisfying. Sullivan’s championing of Dawnrunner here in France, and the impeccable presentation of both its French editions in 2024, affirmed to me his deep investment in our creative team. I’m absolutely thrilled to once again work with him to deliver something fresh and beautiful into print.”

Additional details about the new graphic novel series—including story specifics and release timelines—are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
