BOOM! Studios is leaning fully into the grotesque with HELLO BODY HORROR #1, a new one-shot spinning out of its acclaimed horror anthology Hello Darkness. Hitting comic shops in April 2026, the issue gathers some of the most unsettling tales from the series while introducing brand-new stories guaranteed to make readers squirm.
BOOM! Studios’ body-horror showcase includes “Body Positivity” by Mark Bouchard and Rye Hickman, which follows a fitness influencer whose ambition pushes her body—and mind—past their breaking points. In “Minimal Scarring,” indie breakout Derick Jones tells a chilling story about a plastic surgeon to the ultra-wealthy who repurposes what his clients leave behind to remake himself.
The issue also features work from Michael W. Conrad, Martín Marazzo, Jeremy Bastian, Ziyan Qiu, Jenna Cha, and Rober Hack, assembling a true “who’s who” of modern horror creators under one blood-soaked banner.
HELLO BODY HORROR #1 will ship with a striking lineup of covers by Rebeca Puebla, Jenny Frison, Johnathan Wayshak, and Yanick Paquette.
