Creative teams and a first wave of variant covers have been revealed for Superman/Spider-Man #1, but today we’ve got a first look at eleven more variant covers. This brings the total number of variant covers revealed so far to 22. Out March 25, the one-shot arrives as part of the ongoing 50th anniversary celebration of the very first DC/Marvel crossover, Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man. Check out the Spider-Man/Superman #1 one-shot Marvel Comics is releasing on April 15th.
New covers revealed today are by Mitch Gerads; Rafa Sandoval and Ulises Arreola; J. Scott Campbell; Adam Hughes; Steve Lieber and Nathan Fairbairn; Evan “Doc” Shaner; Jeff Spokes; Chrissie Zullo-Uminga; Scott Koblish and Hi-Fi; and Jorge Jiménez and Tomeu Morey.
Variants previously revealed are by Daniel Sampere and Tomeu Morey; Jim Lee, Scott Williams, and Alex Sinclair; Stanley “Artgerm” Lau; Rafael Albuquerque; Dave Johnson; David Nakayama; Gabriele Dell’Otto; Mikel Janín; David Talaski; and Clayton Crain, this latest round showcases even more of the industry’s top artistic talent.
The lead story pairs Mark Waid and Jorge Jiménez, as Clark Kent and Peter Parker chase the same dangerous mystery, one tied to the villainous machinations of Brainiac and Doctor Octopus. Naturally, their investigation quickly turns into a full-blown superhero crisis once Superman and Spider-Man step into the spotlight.
The one-shot is packed with additional crossover pairings, including:
- Tom King and Jim Lee on Lois Lane and Mary Jane Watson
- Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber revisiting Jimmy Olsen—with a Carnage twist
- Sean Murphy on Superboy (Legion) and Spider-Man 2099
- Gail Simone and Belén Ortega bringing together Power Girl and Punisher
- Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere exploring a meeting between Superboy Prime and Spider-Man during the black-suit era
