#5: Infernal Hulk #4
‘Infernal Hulk #4 is a dark fairy tale soaked in cosmic horror
Infernal Hulk #4 is a bold, visually stunning descent into Hulk’s fractured psyche. Johnson leans fully into the mythic and surreal, crafting a story that feels like a dark fairy tale soaked in cosmic horror. The issue works surprisingly well as a jumping-on point thanks to a vicious opening that establishes the threat of Eldest before plunging readers into Hulk’s internal battleground. Klein delivers some of the most inventive pages of the series so far, from spiraling panel layouts to grotesque and magical landscapes that demand careful attention. The narrative may feel disorienting by design, but the ambition and artistry on display make this one of the most memorable Hulk issues in recent memory.

#4: The Bat-Man: Second Knight #3
‘The Bat-Man: Second Knight’ #3 finally unites DC’s World’s Finest heroes
All in all, The Bat-Man: Second Knight #3 is a strong ending with a weak conflict resolution. But the potential for Scarecrow to make a much stronger impact as a villain was definitely there.

#3: The Peril of The Brutal Dark: An Ezra Cain Mystery #1
‘The Peril of The Brutal Dark: An Ezra Cain Mystery’ #1 review
The most impressive thing about The Peril of the Brutal Dark is how self-assured it is from page one. It mixes the adventure of Raiders of the Lost Ark, the moodiness of Sandman Mystery Theater, and the old school detective work of Dick Tracy into something new, and I can’t wait to check out what Condon and Phillips have planned for the next part of Cain’s inaugural mystery. If they can meet the potential they are promising, we could have an all-timer Vertigo mystery on our hands.

#2: The Power Fantasy #16
‘The Power Fantasy’ #16 is a monumental end to a momentous arc
The Power Fantasy #16 ends the first major era of the title on a strong note that wraps up a lot of major character arcs, while setting up a dramatic new direction for the series to go into after a hiatus of an undetermined length of time.
#1: Is Ted OK? #1
‘Is Ted OK?’ #1 will have you questioning truth, reality, and the untapped potential of comics
You’re going to see and hear a lot around Ted, but just know that there won’t be another comic as inventive, cutting, and resonant like this one for quite some time.
