Marvel just unleashed Queen in Black solicitations for July 2026!
Queen in Black, a new crossover event spinning out of Al Ewing and Carlos Gómez’s Venom run and the Knull limited series by Ewing, Tom Waltz, and Juanan Ramírez, launches this July. The story unfolds across a five-issue main series by Ewing and Iban Coello, supported by a range of tie-in series and one-shots. Marvel has now revealed the cover for Queen in Black #2, arriving July 29, along with new details on how the event expands.
Hela has taken Knull’s throne and now commands an army of symbiotes as the Queen in Black. At the same time, Knull has claimed the Lightforce Dimension and returns as the God of the Void, wielding new power. With both forces on a collision course, Earth becomes the battleground.

Today, we get new details on Queen in Black #2. Tony Stark works to assemble two teams, the Defenders of Light and the Defenders of Dark, as the conflict spreads across the cosmos. Hela launches a direct attack on Earth, drawing the Avengers into the fight, while a Symbiote Intelligence descends on New York City. Venom and the Fantastic Four step in as the situation escalates, raising the stakes for every hero involved.
“One of the joys of Queen in Black is going big and weird with symbiotes and aliens,” Ewing said. “And they don’t come much bigger or stranger than the Symbiote Intelligence.”
The event is supported by several key tie-ins, which we’ve reported on over the last week. Queen in Black: Defenders of Light and Dark follows two teams assembled by Iron Man and Beta Ray Bill. Queen in Black: Hela and Queen in Black: Thor explore the Asgardian side of the conflict and how Hela seized power. Queen in Black: Venom Unchained focuses on Eddie Brock as he attempts to escape prison before joining the fight. Upcoming issues of Venom will continue to shape the roles of Venom, Dylan Brock, and Mary Jane as the story builds toward its larger outcome.
