Check out what video games are out this week.

So many video games, so little time! 2026 is already shaping up to be a big year for gaming. With back-to-back releases, here are the video games hitting your stores this week.

Outbound (5/11) & (5/14)

Platform: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 1, Switch 2, PC

If you are a fan of cozy games, Outbound might be right up your alley. Set in a utopian future, Outbound is an open-world exploration game where you start your journey across vast areas in an empty camper van that needs to be turned into a home. As you explore, collect, craft, and build modular parts for your vehicle, you also have the option to customize your camper van with paints, decorations, and furniture. Additionally, the game offers features like gardening, cooking, and adopting a furry friend. The best part? All this can be done at your own pace, solo or with friends.

Directive 8020 (5/12)

Platform: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC

The fifth installment of Supermassive‘s Dark Pictures Anthology is taking its players to space, where new horrors await. The Earth is dying, and the ship Cassiopeia is sent to outer space to discover a new home for humanity. Brianna Young and four other protagonists realize Tau Ceti f might hold hope for said discovery, but a bigger threat emerges in the form of an alien that can mimic humans. The players must make important choices that directly affect the survival of the Cassiopeia crew as they are hunted in real-time. Directive 8020 takes inspiration from horror classics such as The Thing and Prometheus, where the stakes are at an all-time high!

Subnautica 2 – Early Access (5/14)

Platform: Xbox Series X|S, PC

Subnautica 2 is described as “the next chapter” in the Subnautica universe. The game is an underwater survival adventure set on an alien ocean world. You’ll play as a pioneer travelling to a distant world, but something goes wrong. However, your ship’s AI insists that you continue the mission, and so, stranded and facing the odds of survival, you must do everything in your power to help humanity. Subnautica 2 can be experienced as a single-player narrative or enjoyed with friends via online co-op. Just like the previous games, Subnautica 2 will have its players explore, gather materials, craft upgrades and survive while you build an underwater base and evade monstrous creatures.
